The latest major name to confirm is Volta Trucks, manufacturers of the first purpose-built full-electric truck specifically for inner city freight distribution and delivery. With a clear focus on safety, sustainability and electrification, Volta aims to remove 180,000 tonnes of CO2 from city centres by 2025. The Volta Zero is the world’s first road vehicle to use sustainably sourced carbon-neutral Flax and biodegradable resin composite in exterior body components, used in the world’s most competitive motor racing series.

“Sustainability is at the very core of our business. Saving the planet cannot wait, it must happen now, and Volta Trucks wants to spearhead the rapid change in large commercial vehicles, from outdated diesel to clean and safe technological solutions” stated Carl-Magnus Norden, Founder of Volta Trucks.

Commenting on the company’s participation at ITT Hub, Rob Fowler CEO, Volta Trucks said: “The launch of the Volta Zero this autumn is our next key milestone, when we will be able to reveal the first purpose-built fully electric 16 tonne delivery truck. In early 2021, we will start rigorous real-world trials of the Volta Zero with members of our Pioneer Program – high-profile users of inner-city distribution vehicles, showing them how an electrified fleet could be a reality for them. ITT Hub works perfectly for us as in May 2021, we will be ready to meet the industry and discuss our tailored programmes”.

Other recent additions to the floor plan include Vehocheck with their fleet management technology, alongside ARC Group, Chevin Fleet Solutions, EMAPA, Fleet Planner, Milebay, Orbcomm and Trakm8 who have also taken stands.  ITT Hub now has 110 exhibitors, with 160 exhibitors expected when the doors open next May.

The recent signings have put pressure on the existing floor plan, so the organisers are now able to extend the indoor space available. As Mark Griffin CEO, ITT Hub said “over the last three months we have been working behind the scenes with our customers and partners to build our plans for the 2021 launch event. As lockdown eases, we are delighted that new companies like Volta Trucks have confirmed their participation with us. We are feeling very positive about ITT Hub 2021 and have all sorts of exciting plans which we will be rolling out over the coming months.”

Among them is this week’s launch of the Lunch with Leon podcast, which went live on 8 July. Hosted by Leon Daniels OBE, the first podcast features Paul Sainthouse FCILT, President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. In the first Leon and Paul discuss the state of the industry and how the past and present will inform our future. In the second podcast Leon has lunch with Professor David Begg.  The podcasts can be downloaded free by registering at  https://www.itthub.net/shows/lunch-with-leon/
