Policy, planning and information professionals in local authorities from across the UK are signing up to the free-to-attend Innovation & Technology in Transport – ITT Hub event, the largest show of its kind in 40 years, to understand the technologies and strategies set to propel the transport sector towards its net-zero emission, ultra-efficient future.
To be held at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre on 30 June and 1 July 2021, the exhibition will include a substantial Government Hub, where key government departments – including the Department for International Trade, Department for Transport, APC, Zemo Partnership, Innovate UK, Zenzic and Highways England – will be on hand to share expert insight into the full range of government assistance available to local authorities and policy makers to support future logistics strategies. Manufacturers, including Ford and DAF Trucks, will be showcasing their ground-breaking vehicles and technology at the event, along with infrastructure and energy providers, such as Pivot Power, National Grid and Zenobe.
ITT Hub will also feature a Regional Transport Bodies Hub, where visitors will have the opportunity to meet representatives from six Sub-National Transport Bodies (SNTBs): England’s Economic Heartland, Midlands Connect, Peninsula Transport, Transport East, Transport for the South East, and Western Gateway. Speakers from the regions will be taking part in the event with a combined stand sharing details of policy and examples of collaboration taking place on the decarbonisation agenda.

Alongside the exhibition, more than 30 speakers will be presenting at Logistics UK’s free Future Logistics Conference, examining the issues set to challenge the logistics industry of the future. This includes a session detailing the support the industry will need from government to achieve net zero, featuring senior representatives from Highways England, Electric Vehicles at National Grid, England’s Economic Heartland, and Logistics UK. British Astronaut Major Tim Peake CMG will be giving the keynote speech, identifying where space-age inspiration could provide solutions for 21st century challenges.
