Minister of State for Transport, Jesse Norman MP, sends a special video message of support to the innovators at ITT Hub 2020.
Jesse Norman MP, Minister of State for Transport, recorded a special message of support as 180 invited guests from 130 different organisations attended a special ‘Innovators’ Day’ at Farnborough, to mark the start of the one-year countdown to the opening of ITT Hub 2020, a new business event for the transport and technology sector.
The first powered flight took place at Farnborough in 1908 – a century later, on the same site which is now home to the Farnborough International Conference & Exhibition Centre, a new, unique and pioneering two-day event for the transport and logistics sector will take place in 2020.
Innovation and Technology in Transport (ITT) Hub 2020 will combine traditional, large scale exhibition spaces with outdoor demonstration and experiential opportunities to highlight emerging innovation and technology. In addition, the event will play host to a number of thought leadership conference and seminar sessions, which will aim to provoke ideas and help to shape future transport provision
The innovators invited along to the one year out preview event were able to find out how ITT Hub 2020 will bring together all the latest thinking and technological developments which is already reshaping the transport and logistics landscape.
Lloyds Banking Group, National Grid and Centrica were also unveiled as Commercial Partners for the new event, joining Strategic Partner FTA, and five other Event Partners – Farnborough International, Highways UK, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, the Renewable Energy Association and Transport for the South East – who, along with Zenobe Energy, have already put their weight behind the new Exhibition & Conference.
In a special recoded message, Future of Mobility Minister Jesse Norman said: “I’m only too aware of what progress you’ve made with this great conference and I’m delighted that you’re celebrating it in this new Farnborough space. We’re in the early stages of a revolution in road transport and that stretches all the way across the entire sector from local roads and all the way through to freight, autonomous vehicles, and connected vehicles.
“It’s characterised by relentless innovation across a whole suite of technologies and they bring with them challenges, but also the potential for safer, greener, more sustainable and more inclusive transport.”
